A Letter to the Career I’m Becoming: Reflective Prompts

Lately, I applied for a role that stirred something in me, not just ambition, but reflection. It made me pause and ask myself: What kind of work am I called to do now? Who am I becoming?
For a long time, I shaped myself to fit into the roles I thought I "should" have. I played the part, hit the milestones, wore the mask. But this application process has been different. It’s felt like an invitation to return to my voice. The one I buried under expectation and survival.
This letter is a grounding exercise for me and maybe for you, too. It’s a way to honor all the versions of ourselves who got us here: the one who doubted, the one who pushed through, the one who quietly hoped.
It’s also about making space. For dreams. For discomfort. For ambition that doesn’t apologize. For a career that aligns with who I am, not just what I’m good at.
If you’re in a season of questioning or redefining, I invite you to write your own letter to the career you’re becoming.
Your career isn’t a ladder. It’s a landscape. And you are allowed to grow, reroute, rest, and rise.
Write your letter. Meet the version of you that’s waiting.
