In fact, research shows that nature can have a profound effect on our health and wellbeing. Today, I want to share with you how spending time outdoors can be a powerful tool for personal development and healing.


Soothes Pain: The Surprising Effect of Natural Elements on Recovery

Did you know that simply looking at trees and plants can help us heal faster? A study conducted in hospital rooms found that patients who had natural elements in their rooms, like trees and plants, healed faster than those who didn't. This is because natural elements can distract our attention from pain and discomfort, making them an excellent tool for recovery. I wish I had known this when I had my cholecystectomy at eighteen! I can only imagine how much faster my recovery would have been if I had been able to look out at some trees and greenery.

Feeling stressed and anxious? Can't seem to shake off those negative thoughts? Spending time in nature can be a powerful way to improve our mood and reduce stress. Many studies have found that exposure to natural views and sounds can calm our minds and help us feel more relaxed. In fact, professionals suggest that spending just 20-30 minutes in nature three days a week can have a significant impact on our stress levels and mood. One of my favorite ways to do this is by setting up a yoga or Qi Gong routine in my backyard or at a local park. Not only does it get me moving and exercising, but it also helps me feel more grounded and centered.
